512KB ROM/RAM Disk Card
Introduction
The AR-B7008 is a solid-state disk card that can be used as a system disk in PC/XT or PC/AT computer systems.
It is designed to work in environments hostile
to standard floppy disks and drives (i.e. dust, moisture, temperature, vibration, humidity, etc.)
Features
- Eight 28-pin JEDEC standard sockets
- Total 512k (EPROM) or 256k (SRAM) byte memory capacity
- Accepts 64K x 8 EPROM (27512) or 32K x 8 SRAM (62256)
- 20-bit address bus decoding
- Occupies only 8K bytes of memory (resident area set by configuration of a DIP switch)
- 10 to 15 times faster than mechanical drives
- Can be installed as an EPROM disk, SRAM disk or a combination of both
- Watch-dog timer
- SRAM disk is backed up by a rechargeable battery
