Introduction
This chassis includes eight 3.5" 1/2 height removable SCSI hard drive kits (metal frame) and two hot-swappable redundant 250 watt power supplies. End-users can easily add & remove SCSI hard drives even while the system is in operation. Ideal for high security applications. Drives are locked in place & won't release until user turns the key-lock. A SCSI 2 cable hooks up drive positions 1-7 with standard 50 pin centronics style connectors at the back panel. The 8th SCSI position is not hooked up (SCSI controllers are limited to 7 devices) but provides additional configuration flexibility as the end-user may opt to implement additional controllers or cpu's etc. Ultimate configurations may be 7+1 or altered to 4+4 or any configuration split between these two selections.
Dual LED's on the front of each hard drive frame indicate power status & hard drive activity status. Each removable drive frame is fitted with a 4x4cm ball bearing cooling fan. Additionally, the rear panel has an 8x8cm cooling fan as well as two more 8x8 cm cooling fans fitted in the system power supplies. A total of 11 cooling fans are present! Also, each system provides a total of 16 identical keys. Each key will lock & unlock each drive rack.
